Opening invisible paths to reveal sustainable energy

About Me

As an engineer specialized in thermodynamics and sustainable refrigeration, I believe that innovation thrives in an atmosphere of respect, attentive listening, and collaboration. My vision is to design sustainable and high-performing solutions while fostering open communication, trust, and teamwork. Convinced that every project is an opportunity for collective learning, I am committed to creating an environment where ideas flow freely, enabling creativity and expertise to be transformed into tangible and responsible outcomes.

One day, someone told me:

"Julien, tu vois, chaque jour on use notre corps sur les chantiers… Toi, tu es destiné à autre chose."

This sentence left a mark on me; it became the starting point of a new path.

Nothing is impossible : a journey fueled by conviction

An article was written about my story: « Julien Chabanon : D’un BEP plomberie à un doctorat en génie des procédés : l’histoire d’un parcours hors du commun » Haumont, S. (January 21, 2025). « Les rencontres de la RPF avec … Julien Chabanon ». La RPF. This article illustrates well my journey, from my first teenage dream to my current ambitions.

At 14, I wanted to become a plumber. I achieved this dream with pride by obtaining my BEP plumbing diploma. But over the years, I felt the need to go further. Step by step, I continued my studies: Bac Pro energy, BTS refrigeration, then an engineering degree in energy, obtained through distance learning while working full-time in research and development.

This engineering degree is, for me, a symbol: one of perseverance, passion, and the belief that nothing is impossible when you dedicate yourself to achieving it.

I also had the opportunity to start a PhD in process engineering, an exciting scientific adventure. Even though I couldn’t complete this thesis, this journey is not a failure: it strengthened my knowledge, enriched my experience, and confirmed that my true success lies in the path I’ve taken and the person I have become.

"There are no mistakes, only opportunities to learn differently."

My story is above all that of a man who has always chosen to move forward, learn, and build his future.

And as I often say:

“It’s not the degree that makes the person, but the person who makes the degree.”

Today, more than ever, this phrase takes on its full meaning.

On Friday, September 27, I had the pleasure of sharing my journey with around forty high school students from Castres.
It was a morning full of exchanges, curiosity, and inspiration!

My goal during this meeting was to convey a message of hope: anything is possible.
These young people represent the craftsmen, technicians, engineers, and researchers of tomorrow, and encouraging them to believe in their abilities is, for me, a true source of motivation.

Innovating for a more sustainable future

Specialized in thermodynamics and refrigeration, I turn technical challenges into concrete, environmentally friendly solutions. Combining expertise, teaching skills, and team spirit, I approach each project with rigor… and care, to advance sustainable innovation together.

"Together, our talents multiply"

"Read your past before writing your future"

"The past whispers what the future expects of you."

My idea suggests that the past does not simply fade away: it continues to resonate within us, like an insistent echo. Within these reverberations, something of the future already seems to take shape.
